ABSTRACT
The LET US BE (LUB) project aims to challenge gender stereotypes in sports by providing educational, practical, and innovative tools that sports associations and their youth workers can use to foster more inclusive environments. The initiative is designed to raise awareness, educate, and equip stakeholders with the necessary skills to promote gender equality and eliminate social, economic, and cultural barriers within the sports sector.
To achieve these goals, the project follows a structured approach that unfolds in four key phases. Initially, selected participants undergo training to become LET US BE Consultants, professionals capable of identifying and addressing gender biases in sports. The second phase focuses on developing educational materials, including a comprehensive E-book, which provides both theoretical insights and practical strategies to be implemented within sports organizations. The third phase involves applying these methodologies in local sports communities, testing innovative approaches to foster inclusivity. Finally, the project enters the replication phase, where trained consultants offer guidance to external organizations, ensuring the sustainability and long-term impact of the initiative.
Through this process, the project not only enhances the professional competencies of sports managers, coaches, and instructors but also contributes to a broader cultural shift within sports communities. By integrating gender-sensitive policies and inclusive training methods, the project aspires to create a sports environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, can participate freely and develop their full potential.
LET US BE is a practical and impactful initiative that positions sports as a powerful tool for social change, fostering gender equality and inclusivity across multiple levels of society.
