Every meaningful journey starts with a first step—and for Trail for a Future (T4F), that step was taken during our official online kick-off meeting. Held in the early months of 2024, this first gathering brought together representatives from Portugal, Italyand Bulgaria to align visions, define roles, and lay the foundationfor an ambitious 18-month path toward inclusion through outdoor sports.

A virtual start with a strong connection

Although separated by geography, the three partner organisationscame together in full force for this digital launch. The coordination team from Clube Açoriano de Trail (CATTT), the youth team from YMCAROMA, and the educators and communicators of SPORTSROOM gathered online to connect, share, and get to work.

The meeting focused on:

• Defining shared goals and values

• Assigning roles and responsibilities

• Confirming the timeline and calendar of activities

• Setting up communication channels

• Launching the creation of the project’s visual identity and website

Laying the groundwork for impact

The kick-off meeting was not just administrative—it was deeplysymbolic. It marked the beginning of a project that aims to reachyoung people in remote, rural, and urban areas with limited access to sport and opportunity. By planning each phase collaborativelyand ensuring a transparent and inclusive approach, the partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to make T4F a trulyparticipatory and transformative experience.

Looking ahead with purpose

With the structure now in place, the project is ready to move from planning to action. The first months will focus on localengagement, the selection of young participants, and the development of the first materials and digital tools. All partners will also begin preparing for the first transnational meeting, whereparticipants will finally meet in person to learn, move, and growtogether.

Trail for a Future is officially on its way—and the trail ahead isfull of promise.
