Behind every meaningful project, there are people—and behind TIME TO TEAM, there is a powerful European partnership built on trust, experience, and a shared commitment to social change through sport.
TIME TO TEAM is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme. It brings together four organisations from three countries—Italy, Portugal and Bulgaria—to address a pressing issue: the exclusion of transgender people from team sports.
Each partner brings a unique contribution to this challenge. Let’s meet the team behind the project.
🇮🇹 TKD Rosignano – Project Coordinator (Italy)
Based in Tuscany, TKD Rosignano is a community-based Taekwondo club rooted in the values of respect, discipline and inclusion. With decades of experience in youth training and sport education, the association works closely with local schools, families, and communities. In this project, they serve as the coordinator, ensuring the quality, coherence and local relevance of all activities. Their commitment to making sport accessible to everyone is at the heart of TIME TO TEAM.
🇮🇹 YMCAROMA Empowering Young People (Italy)
YMCAROMA is the youth department of the YMCA movement in Rome, offering international summer camps, training for youth workers, and non-formal education activities. Their work focuses on gender equality, social justice, and youth empowerment, with special attention to marginalised groups. Thanks to their strong background in inclusive education and their creative communication strategies, YMCAROMA leads the educational development and dissemination efforts of the project.
🇵🇹 CDES Miguel Torga (Portugal)
Located in Coimbra, CDES Miguel Torga is a multi-sport club with a solid tradition in community engagement and health promotion. Their gymnastics, swimming and recreational activities are open to children, adults and seniors alike, creating an intergenerational space where everyone can enjoy the benefits of physical activity. In TIME TO TEAM, CDES brings their expertise in inclusive sports programming and local mobilisation.
🇧🇬 SPORTSROOM (Bulgaria)
SPORTSROOM is a Bulgarian NGO that combines sport, youth participation and non-formal education. With a focus on using physical activity as a tool for social inclusion, human rights education and gender equality, the organisation has implemented several European projects aimed at fighting discrimination and promoting empowerment through movement. SPORTSROOM is responsible for designing and facilitating creative, participatory workshops throughout the project.
Together, these four organisations form a strong and united team. Their diverse backgrounds and local experiences are a powerful resource for developing concrete tools to make sport more inclusive—not just in theory, but in everyday practice.
Through international collaboration and grassroots action, TIME TO TEAMÂ will show how small local changes can generate real impact across Europe.
Because inclusion is a team effort.Because it’s time.TIME TO TEAM.
