The ADHD·FOCUS in Sport project is co-funded by the European Union 🇪🇺 under the Erasmus+ Sport programme. From May 7th to 10th, the first transnational meeting took place in Amsterdam, hosted in the beautiful and inspiring setting of the OBA public library. A welcoming space where partners and participants had the chance to work together in an open and collaborative atmosphere 🤝✨.

The meeting brought together representatives from the three partner organisations:

👉 ASD Passaggi nello Sport (Italy)

👉 Brainstorming (Spain)

👉 Stichting Taekwon-Do School Amsterdam (Netherlands)

as well as a group of young leaders from YMCA Roma 🇮🇹, involved as advocates for inclusion in the sports field 💪🧠.

The programme featured a series of highly engaging workshops and practical sessions:

📌 Workshop 1: Overview of ADHD in young people – An analysis of key symptoms, developmental stages and everyday challenges.

📈 Workshop 2: Presentation of ADHD-related statistics – Sharing data and trends to understand the scope of the condition.

Workshop 3: The benefits of sport for young people with ADHD – Highlighting how sports improve attention, self-esteem and social connection.

🤲 Lab 1: How to welcome young people with ADHD and understand their needs – Practical tools for empathy, active listening and inclusive environments.

🖍️ Lab 2: Graphic tools for inclusion – Visual communication strategies such as infographics, posters and awareness materials.

🎤 Final presentation: Inspiring success stories – Real-life testimonies of young people with ADHD who found empowerment and well-being through sport.

This first meeting was not just a training event 📚 – it was a moment to build a shared vision 🌍. Participants gained theoretical insights, practical tools and inclusive educational approaches that will now be tested and adapted within their local sports communities.

The ADHD·FOCUS in Sport journey continues 🚀, but the seed has been planted. From Amsterdam, we started building a European network that is more aware, more attentive and more welcoming for all young people who, through sport, can discover the power of being themselves 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️.
