In January 2026, the partners of the YeW project officially launched their cooperation through an online kick-off meeting. This first staff meeting marked an important starting point for the project, allowing the consortium to define the organisational structure, clarify roles and responsibilities, and plan the first steps of the implementation process.
The main objective of the meeting was to establish a common working framework among all partners. Since YeW focuses on sport, active ageing and intergenerational inclusion, it was essential to ensure that every organisation shared the same understanding of the project’s goals, expected results and methodology.
The meeting opened with a welcome session and participant introductions. This first moment allowed the representatives of the partner organisations to get to know each other better and to create a collaborative atmosphere from the very beginning. Although the consortium already shared a common vision, the kick-off meeting offered the opportunity to align expectations and strengthen the sense of partnership.
The following session was dedicated to the presentation of the project. Partners discussed the general and specific objectives of YeW, the planned activity structure and the expected deliverables. Particular attention was given to the importance of promoting sport for older adults, not only as a way to support physical health, but also as a tool to foster social participation, emotional well-being and intergenerational relationships.
After the break, the consortium focused on the definition of key roles. The partners discussed the responsibilities related to project coordination, monitoring, evaluation, dissemination and administration. This part of the meeting was particularly important to ensure smooth communication and efficient management throughout the project lifecycle.
A specific session was also dedicated to the planning of the upcoming activities and the first Transnational Meeting. Partners discussed the operational steps needed to prepare the training activities, workshops and laboratories that would later take place in Rome. This included the preparation of content, the identification of methodological approaches and the organisation of practical tasks connected to the development of project materials.
The final part of the meeting was dedicated to questions, feedback and next steps. Partners had the opportunity to clarify doubts, share suggestions and agree on the immediate actions to be carried out after the meeting. The discussion helped reinforce the collaborative spirit of the consortium and ensured that all organisations were ready to move forward with a clear and shared roadmap.
The online kick-off meeting represented a key moment for the YeW project. It laid the foundation for effective cooperation, established internal working procedures and created the conditions for a successful implementation of the next project activities.
By the end of the meeting, the consortium had defined the first operational priorities and confirmed its commitment to working together to promote active ageing, inclusion and intergenerational connection through sport.
