TRANSPORTACTION is co-funded by the European Union

The TRANSPORTACTIONÂ project has officially begun. With the first coordination meeting, Italy, Spain and Portugal have launched a shared path aimed at transforming grassroots sport into a truly inclusive space for transgender, gender diverse and intersex people.
The goal is clear: to make sports associations safer, more welcoming and more aware, capable of recognising and valuing gender diversity. Sport can be a powerful tool for social integration, yet too many people still avoid gyms, courses and sporting environments out of fear of discrimination, inadequate facilities or misunderstandings related to gender identity.
This is where TRANSPORTACTION comes in. The project brings together three organisations with experience in sport, training and community work, committed to collaborating on innovative educational tools, training modules, practical guidelines and an open-source e-learning platform. All these resources are designed to support coaches, instructors, gym managers and volunteers in developing updated competences and promoting an inclusive approach in their daily sports activities.
The project unfolds over 15 months of work, including training sessions, international exchanges, local pilot activities, community engagement and communication campaigns. Each phase will be documented and shared to ensure that the good practices developed are replicable and accessible to any organisation wishing to improve inclusivity in its sporting environment.
The launch of TRANSPORTACTION is not only the beginning of a European project, but also a concrete step towards a more open, respectful and informed sports culture. The partner organisations have already shown great enthusiasm and commitment, ready to build an innovative model that can inspire other sports associations across Europe.
Today marks the start of a journey of collaboration, learning and shared growth.A journey rooted in training, listening and collective transformation.A journey with one simple yet ambitious goal: to ensure that everyone, regardless of their gender identity, can find in sport a place where they feel welcomed, respected and free to be themselves.
