In February 2026, the partners of the European project LUB – Let Us Be gathered online for the Final Meeting, bringing to a close an intense and meaningful journey dedicated to promoting gender equality in grassroots sport.
More than just a formal conclusion, the meeting represented a moment of reflection, evaluation and vision, where all partners came together to look back at the work accomplished and to define the next steps for the future.
Reflecting on a shared journey
The Final Meeting opened with a comprehensive overview of the project’s development, retracing the key phases:
the initial alignment during the kick-off meeting;
the transformative learning experience of the Lisbon transnational meeting;
the local meetings and knowledge-sharing activities;
the implementation of consultancy actions within sports organisations.
This reflection allowed partners to recognise the coherence and strength of the project pathway, highlighting how each phase contributed to building a structured and impactful process.
Evaluating results and impact
A central part of the meeting was dedicated to the evaluation of the work carried out.
Partners shared feedback, data and observations collected throughout the project, focusing on:
the effectiveness of the consultancy model;
the level of engagement of local communities;
the changes observed within participating organisations;
the personal and professional growth of participants.
The evaluation confirmed the project’s strong impact, both at individual and organisational level, demonstrating how LUB successfully translated its objectives into concrete results.
Dissemination: spreading the message further
The consortium also focused on the final phase of dissemination, ensuring that the project’s outcomes reach as many people and organisations as possible.
Partners presented the communication actions implemented at local and international level, including:
online campaigns and social media storytelling;
sharing of the educational booklet and practical tools;
engagement of stakeholders, networks and institutions;
organisation of local events and presentations.
The goal is to ensure that the knowledge and tools developed within LUB continue to inspire and support sports organisations well beyond the project’s duration.
Ensuring continuity and sustainability
Looking ahead, a key topic of discussion was the sustainability of the project.
Partners explored how to continue building on the results achieved, with a shared commitment to:
further apply the LUB consultancy model in new contexts;
strengthen the network of trained LUB Consultants;
integrate gender equality practices into everyday organisational routines;
develop future collaborations and projects building on LUB’s methodology.
This forward-looking approach ensures that LUB is not an isolated experience, but the starting point of a long-term process of change.
A strong and committed partnership
The Final Meeting also highlighted the strength of the partnership, built on trust, collaboration and a shared vision.
Throughout the project, organisations worked closely together, exchanging knowledge, supporting each other and co-creating solutions. This collaborative spirit was recognised as one of the key success factors of LUB.
Closing a project, opening new perspectives
As the meeting came to an end, what clearly emerged was not just a sense of completion, but a renewed motivation to continue the work started.
LUB has contributed to:
raising awareness on gender equality in sport;
equipping sports professionals with practical tools and competences;
activating local communities and promoting inclusive practices;
building a network of committed organisations across Europe.
The Final Meeting marked the official closure of the project, but also the beginning of a new phase — where the values, tools and experiences developed will continue to live, evolve and generate impact.
Because Let Us Be is not only a project: it is a vision of sport as a space where everyone can belong.
