The BREAK THE BULLY CYCLE (BTBC) project aims to create safer and more inclusive sports environments by tackling bullying and fostering personal and social development in young athletes. Led by ASD Sparta Calcio in collaboration with Brainstorming (Spain), Sportsroom (Bulgaria), and YMCAROMA (Italy), the project equips sports coaches and educators with practical tools to recognize, prevent, and address bullying within grassroots sports settings.
Objectives:
Raise awareness about different forms of bullying and group dynamics in sports.
Promote social inclusion through sport, with a focus on vulnerable groups and diversity.
Enhance the skills of coaches and educators in managing youth groups effectively.
Project Structure:
Phase 1: Preparation and structured planning.
Phase 2: A Transnational Training Meeting, where partners will undergo training and develop educational materials.
Phase 3: Local activities in each partner country, training coaches, volunteers, and communities.
Phase 4: Dissemination of results, expanding the impact to a broad network of European sports associations.
Key Deliverables:
A "Break the Bully Cycle" Safety and Inclusion Package, including educational materials, intervention protocols, and best practices.
Local awareness-raising events and workshops.
A final dissemination strategy to share findings and best practices across Europe.
Aligned with Erasmus+ priorities, the project promotes equity, inclusion, and diversity, ensuring that all young athletes can enjoy a safe, respectful, and supportive sports environment.
